Who is Emma?

I am a resident theatre director, spoken voice and Acting through Song specialist. I have worked at Identity School of Acting and Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance and have extensive experience as a conductor/MD, singer, pianist/repetiteur and teacher of music. Three years ago I co-founded The Actors Cooperative at the Orchard Theatre Dartford. This was established as part of remobilisation drive of the arts for young professional actors in the post pandemic period. Since its inauguration I have directed and written 6 professional productions, (involving 65 actors), several of which have transferred to other theatres within the Trafalgar Theatre Group.

Five years ago I established Sing Together Ltd, a company which specialises in forging creative partnerships with established theatres and workplaces. In 2020 I founded Nightingale Music, a non- profit organisation which provides free music provision to adults with additional needs. Please see our community page to read more about this work.

Although trained as a classical singer I sing in a variety of singing styles and have 25 years recording/performance experience. I do not subscribe to one particular school of singing methodology. I am also very interested in helping clients become more connected and confident with their speaking voices whether in personal or corporate situations.

Come and join our creative community. There is a place for everybody in our Sing Together community. The Sing Together choir is based in the The Churchill Theatre, Bromley and we meet every week with a short break over the summer and Christmas. Our repertoire is predominantly musical theatre, classical and popular classics. We regularly perform in our host venue.

The Sunday Sing - Mosaic -our new chamber choir takes place at St Andrew’s Church, Court Rd New Eltham - every Sunday between 5pm and 6.30pm. We welcome new members at all times of the year. See our ‘Sing with Us’ page. Mosaic’s repertoire is mainly classical. Scores will be distributed at rehearsals.

Launching in September is an initiative that has been 18 months in the making - Sing Together is delighted to have designed a PART TIME ACTING PROGRAMME in conjunction with the Creative Learning Department of the Churchill Theatre. Please check this link for more details.
